My palette has always deeply informed my work, for the intuitive gesture speaks more honestly than any controlled precision on my part, and offers guidance. The transparent plastic tarp from the painting wall has been incorporated into the paintings. It has become a logical step in expansion, and in truth. This in my mind correlates to the veils that exist in reality and other realms.

When in the rainforest, and the ocean; to be in such beauty, to see the unseen - these are precious experiences, similar to the rare moments when one is in the Zen of painting.

All are one; my painting wall with the flung paint, my palette with its dried clumps and pools of oil, are my body and life.

Oil paint with its myriad contradictory properties, the very dense impasto, the ethereal fluidity; all these in my mind mimic the corporeal dense physicality and ethereal lightness of life.

To paint the beauties of earth, to focus on an inch of a Titian, or the fleshiness in the oil of de Kooning, all are one.

The work has flowed out of me with a joy and ease.
